Profitable Keywords
Google Adwords changed the way everyone looked at keywords. Profitable Keywords were once upon a time keywords that had little competition and high demand. Meaning they were relatively easy to
rank well for.
Today profitable keywords are the ones that attract the most per click. You see that some keywords simply pay more than others. The cost difference in two very similar keywords can be quite
staggering.
When writing content for your site you will focus the content on a group of selected keywords. There are several criteria to consider when choosing keywords. They are:
- Competition Rating
- Potential profit
The competition aspect of keywords we have covered before in researching our niche. The Profitability side of keywords is basically how much they are worth.
Google Adsense displays ads on you web pages. When visitors click on these ads you earn revenue from Google. How much you get per click depends on the amount the advertiser paid which depends on the keywords that generated the ad in the first place.
For example people will find this site by searching for niche websites. Ads displayed on the site will be related to this keyword. They could also find this site based on several other keywords. I have entered those keywords in Goggles Keyword suggestion tool (Need Adwords account) and here is the result.
Notice the average price per click for each keyword phrase. From the above it is obvious that advertisers are paying more for certain keywords which in turn means that I will get more from those
ads.
